Man the industry and the world of racing will miss that guy! A legend passed for sure.

I actually had the honor (Thrill!) of meeting Mr. Nixon at Mid-Ohio VMD a few years ago. Couldn't believe it, was walking through the paddock and he was sitting behind a van relaxing by himself. Was able to chat awhile. Wonderful man- fantastic knowledge of racing. He's probably racing again as I speak.

I saw the sad news on several other forums. Another of my childhood heroes gone. There's not a lot that he didn't do and do great. R.I.P. Gary.

I spoke to him for a bit in the paddock of Mid-Ohio as well. Such a nice guy and willing to share knowledge. Man, he was fast.

Somebody said "We have no choice as to when we arrive in this world and we have no choice as to when we leave. But we do have a choice as to what we do while we're here". Gary Nixon did an awful lot while he was here.
