Getting calcium off carbs?

Sonreir, Is that an optical illusion that makes the two springs shown in your pic appear to be two different length's? ??? One spring looks longer than the other........

Yeah... you can see a fold in the towel that raises the end of the spring that's closer to the camera.

Well i made the blaster, and it worked great, when it worked haha. I must have gotten tubing to small of the T in it was too sharp because sometimes it just wouldn't even blast.

That's why they made dedicated soda blasters haha.
But just keep agitating the box of soda and that method works, it's just a bit frustrating

The majority of carbs are not aluminium but zinc based (Mazak) as it flows better for precision casting.
Pressure casting can be either zinc or aluminium base, the weight difference is really obvious if you have similar carbs to compare.
Almost all pre 1985 (and many later ones) are zinc based alloys

Dang I did the same thing. I've used pine sol with just warm tap water before with great results. Soak 24 hrs, 4:1 ratio.
This time I used a crock pot to speed up the process and gave it 12 hrs. Crap, too long.
So if you are using heat, what's the right amount of time? 10 mins, 30 mins, 1 hr? I must determine...
And yeah I know some of you pine sol haters will say "just don't do it" but I disagree. However, heat applied obviously shortens the time.
Now to my backup carb body...

Don't be in such a hurry? ;D
Not possible. Too much to do and too little time to get it done. These should have been done in June! I'm over-scheduled for sure.

So, explain to me how fucking up a carburetor and starting over makes the job get done sooner.

There are plenty of other things to do while waiting on the carbs to soak for 24 hours.
Or get a soda blaster ;D
