Getting timing chain back on?

Been Around the Block
I have spent the past hour unsuccessfully trying to get the chain back on the cam sprocket with no luck. The sprocket is not bolted onto the cam so I can maneuver it around but it still seems like the chain doesn't have enough slack.

I thought about taking the tensioner off but don't know if that is a great idea or not. Seems like it would be harder to get in once the chain was on.

Any thoughts?

I did drop the chain into the case but got it out via magnet. Could this have possibly affected anything?

SonicJK most likely ment pull the fore and aft blade tensioners. Also unbolt the sprocket from cam and wrap chain around sprocket then reattach to cam.

Yes I did pull the blade tensioners and it didn't seem to give me any more slack. I'll try taking the sprocket off and going about it that way. Advancer nut was stuck on so I didn't bother taking it off, looks like that may be my only option. Thanks!

Yeah.
Put the sprocket on the chain, then put the cam through it.

You may have a 'loop' under the crank.
Take cam back out, fit chain over a screwdriver or similar and kick it over while pulling up.
Any loops should come out
Front guide should be in place but rear tensioner blade needs to be out
