Have you considered a dual sport? I'm 'normal' height and a KLR is enormous

Also 6' 2" (33" inseam) so I understand your dilemma. Look for a cosmetically crashed Suzuki DL650 or 1000. Great initial ergos, you can add more seat space without looking real stupid, converting to a naked is fairly easy (look at the AdvRider forum Some Assembly Required or the Stromtrooper forum), lots of aftermarket suspension upgrade parts available (like stronger springs). If you are only looking at older bikes, then the Suzuki GS850G/1100G would be a good fit (same frame; I'd stay away from the "L" cruiserish model). Smaller displacement bikes - you are kind of stuck with dual-sports/scramblers to get the proper seat-peg distance.
