Well, fellas, I'm going to lay this out. Only one DTT member has been privy to this info this far, and at risk of severe ridicule, I am going to lay this out, 'cause it's gonna be freakin' fun!

I'm headed out this Tuesday night for Laughlin, Nevada for the River Run. Trailering down from here to Vegas with six other guys, and then riding in on my Heritage Softail:

...for a week of hot, desert riding, beer drinking, band listening, etc, etc, etc...

Not a vintage bike event or cafe related at all, but I'm really looking forward to it. Supposed to be some really fun drag racing events, and just plain ol' good cruising. I will be posting here as cool stuff evolves, so stay tuned. Any advice from the locals would be welcome!

Flame on--I need the tan! ;D

Re: Going on a trip...

If anyone ridicules you on here for enjoying an awesome bike related adventure with good friends they are an idiot, undeserving of membership.

Have fun man!

Re: Going on a trip...

Harleys are for wankers, you aren't a real biker for using a trailer, my bike is betters than yous, I bet you look like an ass pirate in your gear, real americans ride ducati, fifteen grand and fifteen miles doesn't make you a biker, dilligaf, ftw, etc, etc, blah blah ::) how's that? :)

Go have fun and we all expect lots o pics. Afterall, harleys have two wheels and put a smile on your face right?

Re: Going on a trip...

I expect the Heritage will get quite a bit of attention, Tyler. Definitely post pics. Oh, and we should grab a brew or two, three, six, before you leave!

Re: Going on a trip...

Sounds like a blast! :)

Re: Going on a trip...

Thanks fellas! I am super stoked about it. We rented a house in Laughlin, so won't have the hotel scene to deal with. They got some good bands playing, including Ted Nugent :D. We are being guided by a couple guys in our group who have been quite a few times, so we should be able to hit all the good places. I've been eyeing the 105+ heat too... 8) I'm from the North Pole, I can't help it!

My wife has been giving me grief about going to "Harley Camp" for the week, and to a degree I suppose she's right. I told her I'm going to spend the week riding around in my a**less chaps and nothing else but a leather vest! She was mortified, of course... :p

I'll keep posting up here as it develops...should be some pretty cool stuff to see. Oh, as I am fairly new to the iPhone thing, what is the best way to load pics to the boards. Seems like most here are using Tapatalk.

Chris--sorry man, I was trying to get all my crap done around here and make time for a beer, but I didn't get it done. We'll get together over 3 (or 6) cold ones when I get back, and I can regale you with stories of debauchery...

Re: Going on a trip...

Hah, no worries man! For photos I use the photobucket app- you can upload directly from your phone and insert into posts just like normal.

Enjoy the debauchery!

I was okay with everything until you said Ted Nugent. He is one enormous douche!

Have fun brother.

Ha, THE NUG!!!!

Seriously man, have fun. Ride Safe. Drink lots of water. Enjoy your time with friends. Show us ridiculous pictures when you get back.

Yep.

That's going to be a good trip, cool copper breather cover by the way.

Re: Going on a trip...

I made it back in one piece! It was an awesome time--lots of destert riding at nice desert temps--80's and 90's. We didn't actually spend a lot of time in Laughlin or Bullhead, and instead spent a ton of time on Lake Havasu, the Colorado River, and parts of old Route 66. Of course there were lots of bikes there--mostly stocker HD baggers, but also some real cool outside the box stuff, from rolling, near non-functional art to race bikes. I think I made one kid's day when we were stuck in a traffic jam. He was on an obviously home made cafe bike, in the middle of a sea of Harley's. I nodded to him and yelled 'cool bike' to him. I could see the grin inside his helmet. The event itself was pretty low key, lots--LOTS--of cops, so everyone pretty much kept the lid on. Hit some pretty fun bars and restaurants along the water fronts, too. Made a run up to Hoover Dam, and then in to Kingman in one day as well. All in all, pretty freakin' fun. Harleys are made for desert riding--Ol' Coppa ran like a champ! on to the pics!

Awesome. Looks like a fun time was had by all. And jeez, what weather! You missed out on our winter storm. ::)

Ha ha...oh yeah. On that day I was riding a road littered with corners posted at 10 mph! ;D
