Good Carb Man in Myrtle

Ellwood

Vintage person on vintage bikes...
I need a good carb man in Myrtle Beach to help with my VM30's on my Cb350. Any suggestions? Wimmer Performance was the man but has gone back to Penn.
Otherwise I am going to tear into it myself and will need the answer to this next question. What is a good setup for a humid sea level CB350 with a 1 over bore?

It is running rich and I have turned it out 1 whole turn and it ran better for about 25 mins then it gets bad (stalling out at stops and rough)...plugs have the black soot but not wet or oily. I am thinking it needs to be rejetted...but I am going to turn it out more and see. I had a bit more power and was going great for about 15 minutes.

Honestly I can't believe it was running before because the timing was out major! I set it and the points...so that helped a lot. This is a fresh rebuild.....and I changed the oil and it was very clean. Starts great no problem....also no choke...so rich again maybe. Of course it's 85 degrees here.

I didn't build this so I am going to try to find out what innerds they have before going further. Originally bike was at 1000 ft and much dryer air.

I am in CHARLESTON SC...I have a friend here who can maybe help you out. I can PM you his info if you would like. He rebuilds/restores vintage bikes. Also a guy in Alexandria NC. His name is Chris and he owns Existential Motorcycles. Really nice guy and is happy to share his knowledge. He has helped me out with lots of stuff in the past...parts...I need help figuring this out phone calls...etc. I know both are a few hours away...but its hard to find people like this these days. Good luck!

By all means fire away...I agree that people with the knowledge of the old stuff are hard to find. If I call another shop and the person on the other end doesn't know what a mikuni carb is...I'll never call again.
