good source for LED lights

I hope you have better luck than I've had. I got mine locally from Fry's Electronics.. They were the "Super Brite" kind.. But they still aren't very bright.

As far as the rest of your setup, do you have all that planned out? Are you looking for LEDs with built in resistors? or are you doing a series of LEDS + one resistor in the series?

I'm sitting on about 1,000 white LEDs I ordered in bulk and I'd be happy to send some your way for the cost of shipping. I'll never get through them all.

They're 6000mcd, so they're decent.

that's a mighty nice offer, thank you. I need red ones, so I'll decline the generosity. Again... thank you

Hey Sonreir! Maybe, I'll take that offer if you don't mind. I use white/clear ones anyway. If used behind a red lens, it makes no difference. Gomotomoto, you don't need red LEDs. Regular bulbs are clear anyway. I built one for my Monster.

No problem, man. PM me your address and I'll get them sent out in the next few days. Any idea on how many you want or need?

I just need the guts to make a small LED brake light. I'm totally lost on the site, I'll give it a good look tonight.

Thanks for posting.

Most of these are 12v. If you opened your tail light and installed one of these strips inside they would be just fine. Nice and bright.
