Got a little project in mind....

Hey guys, long time rider wanting to get back into the road scene. I have a bit of experience fabricating rock crawler and quad suspensions and chassis,
And have been itching to do a Cafe Bike for some time now. Here is my concept so far: I have a '74 Yamaha DT360 motor that will have the counter balancers and rotating assemblies turned down, cylinder bored and ported, with a tuned down pipe exhaust and about a 38mm Keihin carb. Modified '74 DT250 frame with reduced rake and unneeded tabs, maybe shorten swing arm. 17" wheel assemblies with aluminum rims and single disk dirt bike hubs. Decent set of smaller sport bike forks w single large caliper and clip ons or flat bars depending on how the steering head height ends up. Large '70's TZ style tank and seat possibly fairings too. Would likely premix synthetic 2 stroke oil with 50/50 race gas/premium. Rear sets and whatever else to make it work. So basically I want a mid '70s lightweight, open class, street legal, TZ inspired Road Rager that will Do The Ton and then some, but be very agile for carving up the local Sierras.
So being new and unfamiliar with the Forum, I'd like to know the best place to start a build thread.

Start in the projects thread and get them progress pics up bud. Can't wait to see what your doing.
