Yeah, I followed its build. However, I think there is no possibility to do it like that... I really think about leaving the frame as it is, it provides a good place for the indicators...
The same God that only gave you two arm so you can steer your bike with them. The same God that gave you five fingers at the ends of each arm to push a wee little button two millimeters to tell the newly licensed tween in her mom's SUV that your gonna be turning soon and she should watch the fuck out. The same God that you'll be face-to-face with explaining how cool it is to run a bike with no indicators even though it caused you to crash and eat asphalt at 40mph because you were waving your hand like some cracked out scalpler trying to tell people your gonna be takin a left sometime soon and couldn't correct after hitting a rock in the road.
All that to say, use blinkers. It will save your life.
I perfectly understand your opinion, but in Germany indicators are a must have for road use for bikes build after 1965 I think. It doesn't matter where they are mounted, bar ends or anywhere else. The only requirement is, that they are clearly visible.
Re: CB 550 K Cafe Racer Conversion #Backlight integrated
I had some ideas on the aspect how I get a well accessible battery case and finally decided to do it like the following:
The sheet will be welded underneath the seat's hump. There will be another sheet covering the section fastened with 6 screws on which the battery will be mounted. This solution will provide the wanted accessibility.
Re: CB 550 K Cafe Racer Conversion #Battery case integrated
As you maybe read, I bought a clear head lamp from a local store a few weeks ago. I've had some thoughts about this und decided to change it to match the classic Honda case for the headlight.
So here is the result of heat, filling old bores, rebore and smoothing.
The light's original case is visible in the background.
Moreover I had a first try on shortening the frame. The shape does not please me yet, but I'll work on this.
All in all the bike starts getting the shape I imagined months ago...Hope it will turn out great!
Coming home from work I saw this car next to the street.
What do you think of this colour scheme for a classic bike?
Another option is "flake sunrise orange".
See here:
Maybe combined with white or black stripes? I'm quite indecisive with these two colours...
Re: CB 550 K Cafe Racer Conversion #Welding brackets for rearsets?
It's Pros and Cons time!
Saw a CB 750 today with a nice set of velocity stacks. After a quick search on that topic it says, that these would go along well with some porting work.
Re: CB 550 K Cafe Racer Conversion #kickstarter vs rearsets....
Hi guys,
need you help with some thoughts.
I'm stuck with the popular problem, the kickstarter lever vs rearsets clearance.
Read many threads about this problem here in the forum and finally had 2 ideas concerning that.
First, the CB 550 F kickstarter offers a bit more space to work with. I thought of treating it with some heat to bend it about a half inch more away from the frame (if necessary).
Second, someone talked about using a CB 750 kickstart lever. Does it work?
