Green...

I found this on wiki:

"Green is also known to have signified witchcraft, devilry and evil for its association with faeries and spirits of early English folklore. It also had an association with decay and toxicity ... The color, when combined with gold, is seen as representing the fading of youth. In the Celtic tradition, green was avoided in clothing for its superstitious association with misfortune and death. Green is thought to be an unlucky color in British and British-derived cultures, where green cars, wedding dresses, and theater costumes are all the objects of superstition ... In some Far East cultures the color green is often used as a symbol of sickness and/or nausea."

I noticed the mention of Green and Gold there too Swag.

I had been thinking about repainting my 650 at some point, perhaps I should do that sooner rather than later :-\

Too true but then I'm not much for superstition generally.

Painted up this lid as a little tester for my paint scheme...

Not quite the color I want. Needs bit more gold and a bit heavier flake.?

Cheers,

Cool, Yam is getting Green and Gold 8) (I'm 54, fading 'yoof' ;D )

Personally, I'm a big fan of the Guzzi v7 Classic green, it's got just the right mix of acid and hideous to be cool to me:

HAHAHA....fading yoof! Oh yeah...you're Welsh, right?

Nice job on the lid too...your bike should look great if you put that much into the tins!

That helmet is beautiful my good man. Well done for sure. Any paint you lay on the scoot will be killer if its half as good as that lid.

And now that I know green is connected to witchcraft, bad juju, and other such dark and scarys Im even more sure of my decision to paint the Ironhead that color. Thanks for that!

Thanks guys!

I don't actually plan on wearing the helmet (prefer full face), but my wife wants to wear it for snowboarding! ;D

Still working on getting just the right color green.

In my best Fred Gwynne voice....

"What is a yoof?" ;D

Cheers,
-Jeff

Cool color, but I would definitely break it up with some other colors- an off white (creame) and maybe some silver or copper- possibly some black pinstiping.

I am thinking of green myself, something like a kelly green with a little flake in it, with a white frame, does this sound too hideous?

It might be hideous to some, but if you like it...that's really all that matters!

Make that white a pearl and you'll be dialed with your green flake. That would look fantastic. If you go with a gold base coat under your green flake then err on the warmer side for your pearl. If it's on a silver base the a cooler more white pearl.
