I recently picked up a complete 1983 GS650G bike, in rough shape but all the parts are there, no damage, but lots of rust. Last time it was run was 2 years ago when the previous owner redid the carbs. I've been lurking through the forums looking for ideas what to do with this bike. The chrome on it is too rough to try and restore so why not a quasi-cafe style. Primary goal is to get it running, make it safe, make it rideable, and then go from there as to change up the bike to something I hope to enjoy riding. Lots of good looking bikes and a lot of great information available here.. Looking forward to the re-build / refurb journey..

Cheers

Welcome seaking, great to see all these maritimers on DTT, im in the valley myself(Kentville) and im building an old t500 titan, we got a few snow flurries here this morning so i guess its time to batten down the hatches and get building!!! and as for the name "seaking" are you forces?

Snow? Tell me about it.. someone got caught in it on the bike this morning lol geesus! that was fun..

As you guessed it, the name derived from the aircraft I had worked on for most of my 30 yrs in the mob (retired at age 47). Been keeping busy with motorcycles, training, traveling and now this. Reading a Suzuki manual is not like reading technical orders, but the concept is the same.. I just need to find spare parts and gaskets, seals and such for this particular bike.

Hopefully when the weather gets better and our projects done, we can meet up at a Timmies somewhere in between and see how we made out with the bikes.. Something tells me yours will be done long before mine at the rate I'm going lol.. But it's all fun.

Cheers M8
