Greetings from the Redneck Riviera

Ellwood

Vintage person on vintage bikes...
Well I have gone and done it. But feel like I may be the only one at the party. Mostly the land of Harley's and Extended swing arm rice rockets. So just wanted to see who around me may like the cafe racers....not much of a vintage bike place from what I see day to day. Waiting for this bike to get a custom 2 into 1 stainless exhaust and carb tune from International Motorbikes in Hickory, NC....Will pick it up in about 3 weeks...can't wait to hear it.

Guess I was right ... no one home... honestly the Myrtle Beach area is really nice... but we could use some industry other than tourism. I guess I may have to travel a bit to find a group of cafe guys.

Welcome to DTT. You're not alone down there, but most members spend the weekends out riding. Plus there was a big get together this weekend so many of our regular folks were there.

Give it a couple days. Nice bike by the way.

Nice Honda. Post a vid when you get it back with the new pipes. Like having something good to listen to at work! And hang in there- posting up on sites like this is how things get started- we are everywhere.

Didn't think of being out riding.... Last weekend was very crowded. Memorial weekend is the rice rocket bikers...already saw several large trailers full of bikes coming in. Two complete different crowds for bikers.

I want to get to one of the cafe events...one coming up in Charlotte. Also saw the big one in Raleigh.

Will have to video the pipes...I hope they sound as good as this bike looked. Same guy did these pipes as is doing mine. And claim this bike if it is yours...it's sick ;D

Well done! You've got a great looking little CB :)

Well got the bike and took it for a spin. Shifter needs more leverage and a spark plug needs tighten and the carbs need minor adjustments. Overall not bad, but the laundry list of small projects is growing. The exhaust sounds great! I'll try to post a video of that tomorrow.

Damn that looks goooood. Very tasteful colors and nicely balanced overall. fucking good job!
Where is your fork leg brace btw?

Going to put the stock fender back on after cutting it down. I didn't rebuild this bike a guy named Clint up in Hickory NC did it. I bought it and get to add my touches and finish her off. And work out the final kinks. But I think he did a pretty good job. After buying this, I can see how these can become money pits. The 500 pictured above has between 10-12K in it!
On this bike Clint tried to keep alot of the vintage parts like the Redwing shocks, original headlight, not cutting off too much tabbing, vintage finned covers, italian finned tapet covers (came on the bike)....etc. He kept the old feel...so I am trying not to make it look too modern and keep the mojo. He dropped a decent buck into it and alot of powder coating, rebuilding switches...I can only imagine the time. So thanks for the compliment...but I have to give him credit...I think he lost the drive and the flame started to burn low after he finished.
