Gs550D cafe tank advic

Hi guys I need some help. I'm looking for a tank for my gs550 but I've got no idea what will fit or won't or what might look ace or lame. Any tanks that you might recommend or are they fair universal with regards to attaching them? One mate said a gs850 tank would look cool, any thoughts? I'm looking at adding a brown leather style cafe seat.

You will have to strike a balance between what you want your bike to look like and how much trouble you are willing to go to to make a swap. By and large, the majority of similar vintage tanks can be made to work on most similar vintage bikes. That said, nearly all will require some fab work to install properly. You may find a "sister" bike that actually will swap with no work, but mostly even then there usually are subtle differences that require some work to get safely mounted. Keep in mind the style and location of the petcock as this is a common conflict. And how it fits to your seat can be a bigger issue than you might expect.
