Gs650G rearset options

Bonehead

I am wrong... A lot. Don't worry, I know
So, rearsets. I want to simply bolt some on, but that isn't really an option without spending a big chunk of money. Since I now have access to a machine shop, I can make a bracket out of some 1/4" aluminum around the shop.

Also, what are the best used rearsets to buy? I was told I may as well stick with Suzuki so GsXR ones are perfect. I have included a couple pictures for reference.

-I would LOVE to see some people's brackets they made for rearsets, preferably on a similar Suzuki frame if possible.
-Can I just drill into the bracket where the original passenger pegs were? I feel like this would simply be the cleanest way.

Hi, I used the Dime City set and did this with my 650. Just bolted them into where the passenger pegs would mount.

That is exactly what I was looking at doing. Hmmm... I wonder if that is a bit too far back for my exhaust. Mine comes up a bit more than yours since it seems a bit straighter.

Bump.

I did a real quick mock up of the shifter side rearset from an 06 Zx6R, and it was veryyyy close. I may just open up the holes on the rearset bracket. Hopefully just a few mills, so it won't kill the strength of the bracket.

A word of caution about using passenger peg holes: Ideally, rearsets should line up directly under the rider's butt. Too far back, like in the case with passenger pegs, and it will force you into leaning in on your hands. Miles of this can lead to a painful experience.

This is true. I found with the katana style seat and tank though that it wasn't too bad. I did a fair bit of riding when I had this bike setup like this and found it pretty comfortable, I really preferered it over the original peg position.
Of course with a different seat and tank and people are different as well, so what suited me might not suit someone else.
