GS850 pistions fit a 350 twin?

Been Around the Block
I know the 850 pistons fit the 360 perfectly. but now I'm trying to build a SL350 and I would like to use some thing like the gs850 pistons. They are lighter among other benefits.
but I don't know if the wrist pins are the same or if the stroke is different enough that it won't work.

thanks in advance.

if im not mistaken piston pin size is larger on the cb360? so no.

you can use gpz750 pistons in the cb350. gives a slight increase in compression and is a slight overbore. look into it. they can be had for cheap.

Thanks, I'll check into the gpz slugs.
I do plan on boring anyway. An i have an extra 360 motor I was planning on going all out with. So I was hoping that I could use all four of the GS pistons.

Now that you gave me enough info, I'm able to get relevant results in my searches. Thanks.

Sure thing man... good luck.

one note; If you plan to go "all out" that usually means camshaft. high lift cam means youll need the piston clearance to match. I know for a fact that with gpz750 you cant go much bigger then stock lift otherwise youll get a holed piston. if thats the case, consider the bore-tech units. 150 for the pair, but they are high quality and also have gas porting which helps with performance, not to mention the bump in compression.

i went bore-tech but kept the stock cam as it was cost prohibitive at the time to go to a megacycle cam, but apparently now a source has came up for performance regrinds on stock cams, so bigger lift can be had for cheap.

best advice I can give is consider what your doing. in the end, you can drop a good thousand dollars into these motors and only pull out another 4 horsepower. if your aiming for GO FAST! consider taking the cash and buying a modern sport bike; a vintage bike isnt for you. the only way building these motors is really worth your money is if you can do most things by yourself and have access to some good machinery.

now, if you like the challenge, by all means, get that motor running like a TOP!

I don't think I'm going with a new cam. going to use a 68 head and cam with some mild porting. I have a complete motorcycle machine/repair shop, and racer/builder who owns it at my disposal. All the the machine work and experience isn't going to cost me a thing. Plus, he has a warehouse full of jap bike parts he bought when some place went out of business years ago.
We'll use clay or something to make sure there is plenty of clearance for the valves. Going to use the stock slide bore carbs and custom exhaust.
This bike is pretty much just going to be a daily + bar hopper. But 260 pounds of fat ass needs all the help it can to get rolling.
