h4 headlight conversion kz440

just picked up a new 7" headlight bucket for my kz440. The headlight in it now is pretty dim. I was looking at the 20 buck h4 conversions on jcwhitney. Do they wire the same as the old 12v light? I'm an idiot when it coes to anything eletrical. I see the hondas have a problem supplying power to h.i.d.s, what about the kawasakis?

generator is pretty much same as Honda one.
You need to know total generator output before you fit a higher wattage bulb.
I use 35/35 H4, fits early Yamaha FZR1000/750
Very few 1970~80's bikes will run a 55/60w bulb unless they were originally designed to use it

Are there any upgrades possible then? Anyone recommend some brands of bulbs?

Original headlight was a 50/35w. Is a 65/35 too much of an upgrade?
