but can some post up how the tail light is wired in a CB450? for some reason i cant get mine (aftermarket yellow, red, black wire) to work at all and its the only things stopping me from riding :-\
this is so frustrating to be held back by something so stupid.

Black is probably ground so connect that to the green. Red is probably brake light so connect that to the yellow/green then yellow to brown and see what happens.

The green wire is grounded, the green with yellow is my brake light power but nothing else is giving me power, i just need a constant and im good to go.

the brown wire in the headlight isnt plugged into anything....what color should go to the brown?

this manual i DLed sayes it goes to the main ignition switch....?

hmmm wierd now all the sudden i have power to the brown wire without hooking it up to anything in the head light and now i have a tail light, but when i hit the brakes i can barly notice a diference in brightness. and my hand brake doesnt activate the brake light..... more work to be done.

I had the same issue with my aftermarket taillight with the brake light not being much brighter than the constant taillight. I was able to swap the larger bulb out of the stock assembly into my cats eye (hopefully it won't be too hot/close to/for the smaller housing...we'll have to wait and see about that) and it helped a little in making the brake light brighter. I thought about trying to cut down one of the more reflective stock taillight mirrors to fit inside my cats eye and see if I couldn't get a little more pop out of it than it has now too. Not sure if it'll work or not, but it's worth a try.

I had the same trouble about a week and a half ago. No info in the packaging, so I winged it. I am in an airport in florida, and my bike is in Michigan, or else I would just run down and tell you the best way to go about it. I know I added the ground, because the fender on my bike isn't really grounded. Then again, I seem to remember that my lucas style tail light was only two wire, so there you go. In the end, it all worked great, then I had to get on a plane.
