I am in need of a new front tire. I am looking to replace a 4.00-18 Dunlop K70 with a 3.5-18 either Heidenau K34 or K36 or Duro HF316. Anyone have recommendations on one of those? Is there a big performance difference between the Heidenau K34 or K36?

Your bike will reach its limits long before the tire does. I think you'll be plenty happy with whichever tire you can find at the best price. A 3.5" will be a nice improvement over a 4" front tire. Also don't worry about inch vs. mm. You can run a 90mm wide front - no reason to stick to inch sizing.

What are you running on the rear?

I am on my second Duro HF308 on the rear of my hardtail bobber with a sidecar (leaner) attached. I regularly touch hard parts down in turns and have never had a bit of issue with. I think I got about 3000 miles out of the first one. Apples to oranges a bit, but similar tire, and I have no issues with the DURO.

I have some experience with the Duro HF316 tires. They are fine, especially considering the price. If you look around you can probably find free shipping.
