hello, 1st build, 81 cb650

the 650 is a derivative of the 550, a lot of inter-changeable parts. Frames are very close, you can take a 650 engine and pop in 550 frame. My swing arm is from Moto GP Werks and for a 550, bolted right up (had to order the 550 swing arm bolts etc. I lost an inch on the length from the 650 arm. Having said all that there are 750 parts that work too, my rear wheel hub is from a 750 to accommodate the rear disc break conversion from Cycle X. Had to play around with the crush drive covers, there are a few for the 750, then put a spacer under the rear sprocket etc. Also had to fab spacers to make it all fit. Lots of fun.

Really, you can almost make anything fit with time & money. Google is your friend if you have lots of time to research stuff.
 
since its been raining and cold outside, i decided to upgrade the exhaust to a DCC 12" 2.5, new uni pods, pilotsr turned out 2.5, main jets to 142. custom 4-1 header. this thing sounds loud, that was because my idle adjustment was high at start up. Nice deep tone to it. i still have to install new clutch and spring, then when it gets sunny out i could test it out and see how it rides and make adjustments. heres a video on youtube i posted
