Hello All

I figured I would post an intro on this board. I have done so on the predecesor board.

Anyway, I am in the GTA...Newmarket specifically and I have a couple project bikes underway.

1. XS650 Rigid Racer
xs650_roller_3.jpg

I fabricated all the sheetmetal bits for the bike (i.e. gas tank, fender, battery box, seat).

2. XS650 Cafe Racer

This is the starting point for the Cafe. I will be fabricating a gas tank, seat tail and fender for this bike.
I will most likely be putting this bike up for sale when it is completed in Spring 2008.

Glad to join you folks on this board, and if you have any questions and/or comments please fire away :).

welcome to board, cool knows how fabricate tins looks like we all got a new best friend ;D
btw first bike you replace frame or you re weld it to har tail?

Welcome, welcome.. Thats for joining.. Looks like you have some very interesting projects on the go!!
Im sure what we all can benefit from your experience!!..

Look forward to seeing the progress!!

Cheers

The XS650 Rigid uses the stock frame with a hardtail.

Let me know if you guys have ideas for tins and what not.
I am hoping to resume my metalshaping more by the end of the summer.

i was actualy looking for custon seat pan and matching rear bumper tried do fender myself got missing off and went with an indian style cause only involved drilling mounting holes, fender still raw metal so can still be changed.

Looks like you do some great work!

The ridgid looks badass. Can't wait to see it in paint (well... I'd LIKE to see it in black primer with a rusty tank... 8)).

And I have no doubt the cafe racer will come out awesome.

Now you have to pick up another XS650 and turn it into a street-tracker. Then you'll have the whole set!

Here is a CAD drawing of a seat tail that plan on making for the 650 Cafe.
My plan is to make a few of these, initally in steel, but possibly in aluminum as well.

I would be interested in finding out how many people would be interested in something like this.
This one is designed for a 650, but I have a CB750 that I intend to design a seat tail for as well.

Hmmmm.... that's something I might be interested in for my 650 project (see my thread in the Big Arse Projects area). I have a polished alloy tank for the bike - a polished alloy seat would be a nice match :)

this may be bit persumpious, but if you where interested in makeing cash what would you charge to hardtale some ones fram do a new rear fender and a rigid seat pan?
and your work is sweet.

Not presumptuous at all.

I haven't set prices on what I would offer, but I definitely would be offering stuff for a fair price.

For my frame, I had a friend hardtail it. Honestly, there are other guys on other forums that fab hardtails that are priced quite reasonable. For the next rigid I do, that is what I will do.

before noel says it "got to love cycle-x"

Here is a CAD drawing of the tank I will be making for the 650 Cafe:

Is this close to what you are looking for?

i would so like to get one of them seats.
i wouldnt argue with a tank like the one with the cut outs for the knees.
for 80cb650,
a flat top though on the tank.
