Hello everyone. First post here. Cool place you have.
I have a couple of XS650's, one finished and on the road, the other a $100 find that's destined to become a cafe' racer. I've also been heavily involved in the Hot VW scene for years, owning several and having two featured in a national magazine.
The site has already come in handy and I'll start a "project thread" soon.

Hey SCott!!.. Welcome..
definately, post some pics..

Where are you located?

I'm in Rock Vegas, baby! Rock Hill, SC....just across the state line from Charlotte, NC.

Hey Scott, I'm Matt Tobias from the CLF. I'm sure we've chatted before. Good to have you here!

Hey Matt...sure, I recognize your name. What's your ride (the two wheeled kind)?

I've got 3, and of course, they're all projects.

1st up is my $40 Craigslist KZ750 twin
I chopped about 100lbs off of it and made just about everything on it.
Its a fun bike that I need to get around to painting

Then there is my Sportster chop that I've been working on for awhile

And finally my $200 1983 Katana. I'm stoked on this one. Consider it the first real crotchrocket style bike, and I'm going to update it with radials, cartridge forks and modern brakes. I've finished bracing the frame, got the rims, brakes and forks, and am trying to get everything finish welded so I can paint it.

Dude! Tobiism...you have the specs for that seat?? That thing is sweet! Exactly about the same length in frame cutoff too. And its a KZ so the frame is likely to be very similar to my GS's... I'd appreciate it!

And also, if ya need any parts for that Katana, I may be able to help you out. I have a GS750 16valver sitting here that im parting out. I know that there are slight differences after 82, but some stuff may be interchangeable...

You gotta love those early 80's crotch rocket pre-cursors. Here's a pic of my girlfriends '85 FJ600.
