I looked into removing the cat, but I'm not comfortable with the process. So I checked the spark plug again and saw that it was black. I leaned out the mixture and now the response is much better! After some research, I found that there are two screws for adjusting the carb. Until recently, I've only been messing with the one on the side. Still not sure what each screw is doing exactly.

Only thing now is to idle at the right rpm. I've fixed the lag, but it seems like it's idling high. I guess I'll have to get me a tach.
