Help finding a metric adapter, Please!

I bought a new petcock for my tank, but the nut on the petcock is smaller than the nipple coming out of the tank. The threads on the tank are a male M20x1.5 and the threads on the nut are a female M16x1.5. So I need an adapter to go from M20x1.5 female thread to M16x1.5 male thread to work between the two for me to be able to use my new petcock. Does anyone know where I can get an adapter like that? I tried my local hardware store and Home Depot but they don't carry much/anything in the metric category for adapters. Is it possible that anyone would be willing to make one even for me if I can't find one? Just let me know if anyone can help, this is one of the last things holding back my bike from being finished and fine tuned.

Thanks.

Don't know where you're located, but sometimes your smaller hardware stores (Ace here in NE FL) will have a huge selection of oddball stuff like that.

WHat tank is this? Going to be easier to find the proper petcock.

That is not a common adapter. Most M20x1.5 female to male adapters you will find will convert down to NPT 1/2" or similar. Put an ad on craigslist as this would be a simple project for a machinist with a lathe and mill. Basically could be made from scrap bar stock laying around in most machine shops.

The bike is a 78 cb750f and as far as i know it is cb750 tank on it, but the petcock that was on it is not at all what the OEM looks like according to the diagram on bikebandit.com.

So last night i emailed a company i found online that makes the fitting i need, but they really only sell them in mass quantities. I asked them if it was possible for me to just order one from them and the guy replied with another company they they are partners with that deals with smaller quantities. He said that a lot of times the smaller company will send out samples of their fittings upon request. So i emailed the smaller company this morning and asked if i could have a sample. they replied to me a little bit ago, and sure enough they are sending me a sample of the fitting i need via USPS. they didnt even charge me shipping or anything. so i guess when it gets here i will see if it works out for me, hopefully it will.
