Help getting wired for spark

Here’s the deal. I bought a 1975 Yamaha something. I havn’t tracked down specifically what it is yet. I’m told it’s a 90cc machine. It's a two stroke. Looks like a standard bike except it’s a little smaller (16” wheels) and it also has pedals.

The kid I bought it from says it starts but there was no battery so it’s possible it has a magneto like set-up and doesn’t need a battery to start.

The wiring was a mess so I stripped it down to the point where I have 4 wires coming from the motor. Anybody want to guess as to how those should be connected in order to try kicking for spark?

I’ll post pics shortly.

Is this what you have?

Pedals mean its a moped, and you typically don't see those over 49cc to avoid having to comply with motorcycle laws. There shouldn't be a battery, magneto only. Left side hand lever should be clutch to get it started, using the pedals to kick it over. I'd be willing to bet it has a centrifugal clutch with a 1 or 2 speed transmission (or a single speed trans with two stage clutch). This all based on my experience owning a 1979 Puch Newport (LOVED that thing), so I could be totally wrong.

Cool thing about the pedals is that you're never really "stuck" anywhere, although they make the worst pedaling machine in the world, not to mention how shamelessly embarrassing it is to have to pedal one.

yes XDK I bot a Fizzie.

Turns out the pedals were an add on to meet UK standards - early models had no pedals. It actually has a battery & kick start with a 4 speed tranny.

I posted this on another boasrd and now have a wiring diagram - I expect it run shortly.

Thanks
