Help needed with enamel paint properties.

Staffy

It's not yours 'til you cut it up.
I've been looking into roller painting my tins since coming across this blog courtesy of the $50 mod thread:
http://www.rickwrench.com/index79master.htm?http://www.rickwrench.com/50dollarpaint.html
There's further information on roller painting here:

The problem I have is my location and a lack of information on paint.

Two paints are mentioned which are Tremclad (available in Canada) and Rustoleum (in the USA), both of which are pretty much non existent here in Australia. I've been trying to find out what sort of enamel these are so I can find the equivalent over here.

All of the paints which I've been able to find as a cover all paint which doesn't require primer are epoxy enamels, whether they be roll on or rattle bombs.

I'm hoping someone here can give me the low down on some of the properties of the tremclad or rustoleum paints talked about in the two links above. If they are an epoxy I'll be pretty stoked as that means I can jusy keep using the stuff I have in the shed.

So this is the Tremclad they are using (I think).

Yes, that is the one that is used in that link. Are you sure they don't sell it in Australia? On that site you linked to, there is a Contact Us page with an Australian office and address. Their email is sales@rustoleum.com.au. I've contacted Tremclad a few times about different questions and they have always responded and answered my questions, nice to deal with. Usually takes about two days for them to reply. They may sell it under a different name down there and they would be able to tell you.

Nup. I ended up calling them and they put me through to the local distributor who was less than helpful. When I told him what I was wanting to use it for the phone went silent and he then starting talking about other stuff. When I insisted I knew what I wanted he told me to call a local apint supplies place who promptly went silent also when I explianed what I was doing. They then tried to tell me I needed to use a primer and this other kind of paint....

I think I need to go for a ride and just look around.
