So...after weeks of work and lots of fun, i finally put my bike back together. New additions: removed airboxes, added pods, removed battery, added capacitor, replaced plugs and plug caps. It kicked over just fine, electrical worked like a charm, no problems what so ever...until i came back from my test run down the street and pulled into my garage...and I am fiddling with the carb on the right of the bike only to notice that its straight pouring gas from the left drain hose off the bottom of the float. I've tightened the screws, i've done a thorough visual inspection. I kinked the hose to see if it would stop the leak...then the gas came out of my intake and back side of the carb...by the choke. Any ideas?!?! On a positive side, all the stuff i did, shaving 20lbs off the bike, and the above mentioned--made her FLY!

If gas is pouring out I suspect either an improper float or a stuck float. Tap on the bowl with the handle of a screwdriver. If that doesn't work then take the carbs off and set the floats.

i had that problem with my 76 CB500t turns out the needles and seats were shot and the carbs were gummed up try cleaning the carbs and replacing the needles and seats.

Thanks for your input! I'll let you know if tapping it works...if not, looks like i'll be pulling her apart again.

it says honda...at least thats what i see...but its a Honda, just wanted to pay tribute to the Norton as I wish i had one and i did some british styling on the ride...

yes sir, i did indeed. Thank you very much for that. What do you think of the tank...the red all make sense now? I clear coated the tank after putting some adhesion promoter on there...worked pretty good thus far. The test ride down the block was badass. she screams so much louder now and is waaaaay faster than before--which was a pleasant surprise. plus i chopped so much off the back, i was able to sink the seat pan about 6 inches so it sits flush over the frame bars. Such a different and more fun ride than it was before.
