I picked up a 1982 suzuki katana with a bandit 1200 motor and 1989 gsxr carbs (mikuni BST36ss). It had velocity stacks on it to start with, looks like they were 3D printed but not positive. The bike runs fantastic but after a ride one of the stacks flew off and now I'm down to 3. I need to fit something, either different velocity stacks or pod filters.
My limiting factor is height, from the carb opening I have about 50mm clearance until it hits the side body panel. Can anybody help with something that may fit these carbs? The opening of the mouth is 60mm oval shaped.
That is a bucket list bike for me. I absolutely love them.
Check out Ramair carb socks. I'm running a dual Ramair carb sock on my RD350 with TM carbs and similar clearance to frame issues. I think mine are listed for a Weber 40 DCOE. You'll have to dig around for your size. They have stretch, so doesn't need to be nearly exact.
