alright guys, so my new tank is from a suzuki and it didnt come with a petcock so I am going to need to get one. However, the suzki petcock only has one tube, but my petcock from my stock 550 tank has two tubes going to the carburator. Would it be okay to just get the suzuki petcock (since it is already drilled for it) and just get a T-connector to split the single tube into 2. Or do I need to have someone weld a peice of metal over the old petcock holes and mount my honda one on there?

Thanks for the help.

i'm guessing that dminner is talking about two tubes running out of the petcock to the carbs, rather than two tubes running up into the tank.

this site talks about replacing a kwaka '2 tube' petcock, with a '1 tube petcock + Y splitter', and says it should work fine:

http://www.z1enterprises.com/reference/petcock.aspx

....an irrelevant aside....of course this assumes that the 2 tube petcock is running gas thru both tubes to the carbs. my 1980 kwaka 550 has a 2 tube petcock, but one is running gas to the carbs, and the other is a vacuum tube running to the carbs. as z1enterprises says... 'Just make sure you do not confuse a vacuum hose for a fuel hose....' if you do confuse the two, gasoline will flow into the carbs through the wrong tube, then into the air cleaner, and then onto your driveway, where it will dissolve the asphalt. i learned this last weekend.... :-[

yep.. You can use a splitter from the fuel tap to feed both sides of the carb.
That's whatn I'm gonna do with the cb750f tank on my cb550

I think ol' locOleoN is right - the one petcock spigot should feed enough fuel for all 4 carbs. What tank are you running?
