Hey Ducati folks...

Just read that Audi has agreed to buy your beloved Ducati. Cant post the link from my phone, but Google it. Thoughts?

Also... VWAG owns a 20% stake in Suzuki, so I'm really hoping to see a new German bike on the market soon.

There are a few players in game currently. Another is Daimler, as well as Hero, the Indian motor company, which - incedentally - is one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers in the world. It's no secret that Investindustrial has been planning to sell the company for some time, but personally, I'd like to see sole ownership return to Europe. Currently, Chinese investors hold a major stake in the company.

So now my next Ducati will get turbo all wheel drive and look boring. Yey. I love the tech Audi has but they are seriously lacking in the looks department.

You're thinking of Benelli. Well I own a 94 M900 or as I call it, a Cagiva Ducati. Back when it was still 100% Italian.

Im not shooting from the hip i worked on european cars for ten years for a living i would not own a audi if it was free. Give it a few year bmw will snag up duc and undo audi mistakes

I hope if Audi buys Ducati, that they leave the designers and engineers in Italy and don't mess with the passion. Having said that, I honestly believe they will sanitize the company.

If they could have the passion that the Castiglioni brothers of Cagiva had when they owned Ducati. Not only saving the company but giving us the Ducati 916 :) that would be my perfect outcome.

Remember when you look in the dictionary for the word AWESOME, this is what you see ;D

I'm ok with this. Look what they did with Lamborghini, still off the wall wild Italian designs and insanely fast, just without the tendency to catch fire

It's just another step in VAG world domination. ;)

I like the looks and performance of VAG vehicles, but long term reliability and ease/economy of service leaves a lot to be desired.
They need more Japanese influence IMHO. :)

lamdo are supose to be bonkers and try to kill you every time you attempt to go around a turn audi made them dull, audi need to figure out that there is no computerized replacement for the soul of a ax murderer. Audi has missed the mark in one way or another on every car they been involed with in the last 40 years i mean have you ever looked at a tt.

Have you ever looked at a Coupe Quattro? S5? Group B-Rally?

Audi may not make the kind of vehicles that you like, but to say they've missed the mark on every vehicle they've made is pretty far from the truth. Perhaps their vehicles simply cater to different purposes or tastes than your own?

A year or so ago i worked on a r8 that was just out of warenty the power seat controls were messed up i called a friend thats a audi tech he called some friends well they all told me the fucking seat needed replaced i was like your kidding me right a 23 hundred dollar seat needs replaced in a car over the power seat controls that is a design flaw if i ever saw one. a hundred dollar switch cost 22 hundred extra haha o yea Rally cars dont run oem power seat, or any thing that does not make them go or stop in a hurry. Dont worry man you will never have to race me to a craigs list audi for sale. A car company in 2012 can build a car with any kind of spec they want for some one to find on google. I n the real world when it comes time to maintain and live with these cars audi missed the mark, power everything and sat nav is great but in 5 years when half of it doesnt work rememder you heard it hear first.
