Since Kanticoy mentioned Doomtree and Sage in the Stoner Rock thread, I only thought it fair to start a separate thread. I'm a huge Stone's Throw fan-PB Wolf and Madlib fan, along with J Dilla, Black Milk, and MF Doom. Some examples:

Hell yes Kev. 'Bout time somebody started this up. I am a true blue hip-hop head. I hate radio music, but the real word poetry from the underground stirs my soul. Love everything you posted. Here's a few more that I like.

Prolyphic and Reanimator, Sleep, Sadistik, Prefuse 73 (instrumental stuff), RJD2 (also instrumental), Four Tet, Collective Efforts, Man I can go on and on:

Mac Miller. Straight outta' Pittsburgh. Our own JFish throws the beats dowm on the this one...

I listened to Mac Miller a while back on here. Gotta say I really dig it! REALLY dig it! Minneapolis is bursting at the seems with down and dirty hip hop. I love Doomtree! If you like them, check out P.O.S. He's in it and his solo stuff is really awesome! Also, Atmosphere is also local here. There is way more I just can't think of it all right now.

Here's another group Blu and Exile. Not from the Mini-Apple but good none the less.

Nice to see some others on here with similar music taste. I am excited for the upcoming O.J. Simpson album as well the new flying lotus which should be fire. I have been into a lot more of the instrumental and dubstep stuff lately. If you like prefuse you may digg Nosaj Thing, Mount kimbie, mike slott, and fulgeance its all offbeat type instrumental stuff.

P73 is one of my all time favorites. Thamks for the suggestions andoor! I will dig all of that stuff up.!!!

Sage, Sleep, nice. Pigeon John...K'naan...Chicharones

Used to be really big into underground stuff, but I've kinda leveled off. Still got a soft spot for it though.

Doh-not sure why it won't display my links :-\ Dubstep and DnB would be a whole other thread. I was part of the Houston DnB/rave scene back in the 90's and had a dubstep/broken beat/bassline night here in Austin a few years back as an MC - love for Rusko, Caspa, 16bit, Datsik, Incision, Trolley Snatcha, etc. Best part of London trip was skanking out in Fabric to Pascal, Hype, and Dj SS!

Nice, glad to see this... I love real hip hop, never really got into it until I moved to Seattle. It was the blue scholars who did it for me. A DJ and an MC... both Seattle natives, one is a transplant from HI. Anyway they make great music, beautiful poetry, etc, etc.

Wow this warms my heart! Only in this information age can one come on a MOTORCYCLE forum and hear the likes of Prefuse 73 and did I see BLUE SCHOLARS!?! WHAT!?! The Hawaii fam! My guys Fortilive (google them) are like Michael Jackson out there!

Thanks a lot Mike for reposting the Mac stuff - Got a lot of new stuff coming along ill make sure to post over here.

I for one have listened to the most underground of the underground, and most obscure of the obscure hip hop - But these days I find myself drawn not to hip hop, but instead music that hip hop has influenced:

This is one of the craziest tracks Ive ever heard. From a Scottsman!!!! Word has it he made this when he was 15

And I simply can not stop listening to these dudes:
