homemade cafe seat any pointers before I start?

JESUS FREEK

Been Around the Block
First off I have been lurking on here for quite some time. My cafe is almost complete as you can tell from the avatar and if I can figure out how to lower the pixel size of the pics I will post better pics. I wanna do a cafe seat, I am cheap/frugal so I dont wanna spend the money ebay is asking. I have some spare parts in the garage. I like the stuff Noel has been doing ya know chopping up perfectly go nos parts. HA! HA ! My bike a 1975 cb550 f currently has a K tank on it. Because the F tank has so many rust holes at the bottom of it. It looks like a crime scene from CSI lots of stab wounds. Also I have a F tank that will not be touched as I havent got around to painting it. My 550 currently has a K seat and K tank. Would it look stupid if I used my holey F tank as my bump stop{ the dreaded cowl} on my cafe seat. I do have a F seat on the shelf as well. My thoughts were to create a bump stop that could easily be removed on those nights I wanna bring the wife on a ride. Has anyone done this,or is it easier to just cut up the F tank and starting from scratch?
cheers

I could spend all day typing pointers to you, or you could just spend some time flipping through all of the threads in this section you find may apply to your situation!
Happy hunting!
