First I want to say that it's an impressive build. Then I want to ask, how do you find this much time? Are you wealthy and don't have to work or are you retired. Your progress is astounding. I'm doing a CB550 build and it took me 4 months of weekends to build 2 wheels and a set of forks.

Thanks for the compliment. I'm not wealthy by any means or retired. Work a normal work week. I just have everything at my disposal at a shop that allows me to work on my personal projects after hours and on the weekends. I also have built several other bikes and have just become much more efficient over time. One thing that helps is that I have the entire project already planned out in my head before I ever start usually with fairly strict budget. I Like the CB550 your building, great detail! I built a CB750 several years ago,but sold it to fund other projects.

I started as a budget build. Like you, I had a precise plan starting out. I was online looking for info on rebuilding Keihin carburetors and stumbled upon Murray's Carburetors and thought they were so cool that I figured, ok I'll just upgrade my plan to include these. Then when looking for wiring info, I discovered Motogadget stuff and at that point I lost my mind. No longer a sensible semi budget build, now it's a I need the best of everything build. I've always loved well designed tools, parts and machinery. I don't have the welding and fab skills that a some of the builders here do. I did find a good welder fabricator which was a Godsend because I got that work done exactly as I wanted. So my next best thing is to pick out a theme and nice parts. So, I've done that and it looks like if I continue to do the grunt work correctly and put it all together well, I might end up with a nice build that won't embarrass me next to the truly talented builders. I watch builds like yours very closely and have picked up great ideas and advice. It's really big fun. What else do you do when you're 68 years old?

Looking forward to seeing you're end product. Besides good work, you have an eye for what looks good.

Here is the finished bike. Happy with how it came out. Runs nice too no issues. I always though Honda should have made a new version of the Nighthawk S.

I have gotten to the point of hating black motorcycles. BUT, this build is an entirely different animal. It's so well thought out and executed that the black in combination with the red is spectacular. The red wheels are a perfect counterpoint and the silver accents on the motor make it pop instead of just looking like a blob of black. My compliments to a gorgeous motorcycle.

Thanks everyone for all the positive feedback! Been out a couple times on the bike, runs great the brakes and suspension are a big improvement.

Great work as always man. That thing looks factory +! Love it.
