Honda Build

I wasnt calling you a pig. Im just saying that "fun" is a relative term. I dont enjoy trolling ppl, acting like my lower self, etc. That brings on bad habits and is infectious. I tend to work from a higher place

There has always been a divide on this site between those who demand that things be built to a minimum performance standard, i.e. a machine is not worthy unless it functions nearly the same as stock or better, and those who like to build things for style and looks. Suffice it to say, it does not matter how much clearance you have if your rear suspension doesn't move, and that's fairly easy to achieve with stiff springs and preload. Will the bike handle or be comfortable? Nope. But to some appearance is all that matters. To each their own. If you hit a bump and crash, that's on you.

I personally attempt to get both, though honestly my own tenadncies certainly lean more towards performance. You need to consider the amount of travel at the shock shaft, look at how much more you get at the wheel due to it being behind the shock mount, and work to get minimal clearance plus 15% for tire size changes, flex, etc. All of that considered, 11 pages in 2 days. You all need to spend a little more time working on your bikes and less time attempting to prove you are smarter than random strangers on the internet. Probably do everyone some good to just not stress about it.

I found this really useful! However your way off base if you think Im trying to be smarter than anyone. Im simply being me, and if me happens to be smarter than most, well thats a good thing for me.

In that case, let the trolls troll.
When a guy asks for help, disregards all of it from day one, lies multiple times about multiple things, he gets fucked with. End of story.

I absolutely detest liars. I couldn't give a shit less if this guy gets ran over by a truck today. Seriously.

Clever would be me making up the Darwin Award but I didn't and couldn't take the credit for being cute and clever since this already exists. http://www.darwinawards.com

I was actually trying to get people to lay off of you but with that witty retort I say, fuck it!
Also, your tire will rub, and pray you that it doesn't happen at highway speeds where you will need experience to be able handle the problem.

In the end, its your bike, your life

sometimes things get lost in translation. It wasnt apparent to me you were trying to assist.

However, as much fun as these guys think they are having with me, Im having a lot more. I feel like a chaperone at a school dance, guiding the youth, keeping them from harm.

Also, telling me that reading is fundamental is insulting.
And if I may, telling people that your work from a "higher place" isn't actually being or working from a higher place, that is simply letting others know that this is what you wish would happen. A higher place as you so put it, exists without stating it to others, it something that is part of you and you know it without expressing this to anyone

Keep posting JWilde, you're a Superstar... ;)

And with that, my popularity here, be it positive or negative, will no longer be a boone to yours. I hope others will follow suit, because this turkey is done.

Right. So from your statement I gather you operate as do most humans: "if youre not doing it my way, its not real geniune or valid." Thats the definition of insecurity.

Can we talk about bikes? Lets give them a chance to educate me about something I dont know. Most other things, I have under control. Bikes I can learn about. Philosophy and human behavior, Im a pro at.

*drops the mic*

That the real issue. That my aesthetic is different from the general consensus.

Most people I know aren't much into innuendo and hinting. If they thought your aesthetic was the issue, they would say so.

I don't know how many pages of this I've read, but most have a few posts talking about clearance. Not aesthetic.

The way to check for this issue is simple and has been described to you multiple times, but you still seem to be avoiding it. What's the reason?

At first I thought a lot of folks were just messing around when they mentioned that you're here just to troll and raise a ruckus. Now, I'm not so sure.

Well take a look at the first few posts of mine within this post. All Im talking about is bikes. Then comes the usual suspects derailing the thread.

The reason i keep reiterating that "reading is fundamental" is, no one reads. They just jump to conclusions based on their underlying motive.

Since reading is fundamental, if someone read this thread they would see:

I posted an update on my bike
A guy who has a bike like mine responded
I offered to give him a part for FREE
then someone who calls himself an adult, posts a photo of a unicorn on a bike. Mental issues
Someone who continually stirs up trouble in this forum seeks to dissuade the guy from taking a part that I could easily get $100
So thats someone being a troll
Then someone says its looks like I have a clearance issue based on photo I posted
I ask why
They explain
Then I reflect on my relationship with my builder and how capable he is, and say I have trust in him
Ppl continue to go on and on about the clearance issue
then i say my builder is awesome
then they say my builder is shit
I beg to differ
then they get personal

Are you joking? And Im the troll?

Again this is why I said reading is fundamental. If you werent so caught up in your hatred and dislike, you would have taken the time to have read I PM-ed several ppl. But you dont want to read that do you?

Reading.....is......fundamental.

Who is the troll now?

What I see in this thread are a lot of people (with varying levels of tact and politeness) telling you that your bike may not be safe.

Your response has been to dismiss them out of hand or interpret their information as pertaining to your styling choices.

In my opinion, had you responded with, "Yes. I've measured the clearance and I have <insert distance here> inches to spare.", then this thread would be about 10 pages shorter and still be dealing with bikes.

Because of your failure to respond in a rational and expected way, I am beginning to infer you are a troll, yes.
