Been Around the Block
Thought some of you may like this. A new personal project - a cheap runabout which I can modify over time.
Honda CB 250 RS, bought for a whopping $400. Oil leaks from both rocker covers, wiring has been hacked, indicator lenses broken, side cover missing, but it starts first kick and seems to ride fine.
Plan is to rego it as a runabout and slowly modify.
So far I've spent about half a day on it, reconnected all the tail lights, rewired the front indicators, rewired the regulator (for some reason there was no plug on the reg, just cut wires) and fitted a flasher relay. I now have all lights working, haven't tried to start it yet (tank off to get to wiring) to find out if the reg is working, no horn yet, just realised I haven't tested the brake light either.
Funniest butchering job I've found so far - the previous owner didn't know how to use a bayonet light globe fitting, had replaced an indicator globe and wedged it into place with a toothpick!
