Okay, a couple of noob questions. I started to clean the carbs yesterday and I noticed two "problems"

=> the spiral of the vacium system is in one carb longer as in the other one, I guess they both need to be the same size, or is this too simple?

=> I'm gonna run filter pods and I've read that I should bump the jets with a 25 - 30 size, right now I have 105's, so I would go for 130's ?! And I also read that I should raise the needle, maybe I'm just stupid but there is no way I can raise the needle, it's fixed. Do I need to buy special needles?

I hope somebody can help.

=> yeah that's something you would suspect but that's not an option. I've read somewhere you need to fix it with washers. Also I should go for uni filters and not the typical egmo / K1N style filters. Allthough I prefer my bike to operate at it's best I really like the K&N look more then the uni filters... aahh, more thoughts about the build, just what I need... :eek:
 
I painted my hubs today with wrinkle paint and I'm pretty happy with the result, here is a little mockup.

I'm thinking about polishing the upper lines in the middle of the hub if the paint is 100% dry... not sure yet.

Finally got my parts back from the powder coater yesterday and I found some time today to start building.
I laced the wheels first, then I mounted the forks, swingarm and I did a little mockup, this is the result:

I'm really satisfied with the glossy black finish, it's perfect. It works very well with the parts that are painted with the wrinkle paint.

some more details, the inner part of the hub is painted with the wrinkle paint and after that I polished the lines in it, hope you understand me.

I see the pictures upside down, don't know what I did wrong? moderator? :-[

and the last one for today, I already started to "pimp" the exhaust. Tubes will be wrapped with white heat wrap, the heat shields are powdercoated black and the mufflers will get the wrinkle paint finish.

I finished the build a little further, I'm waiting for the tyres to arrive now.
I ordered metzeler ME 77 3,50 front and 4,00 for the rear.

I just fabricated some holders for the tacho, that's all I'm gonna run.

Nice work so far! I'm building a CB350 as well. Couple questions. What was your method of polishing the forks and other bits? I just did one fork and it was a pain! Hand sanded with 220, 400, 600 and then 800. Have yet do the polish with the buffer.

Also, where did you get your spokes? I'm pretty sure I am going to replace mine and need to figure out the best place to get them. Thanks!
 
the forks and hubs came out pretty good after not that much of hard work. I didn't use sandpaper, just steelwool 0,0 and after the steelwool I polished with belgom alu and lot's of elbow grease! ;)
The spokes are easily found on ebay, I just ordered the cheapest chrome versions with chrome nipples in hong kong.

Today, "sinterklaas" came for the kids (something like santa claus and pretty popular in Belgium and the Netherlands) and the bike served as decoration with candy and toys in front.
