Monkey see monkey do is all i see now days!
Today i noticed white smoke out of my right tail pipe today . It only happens when i accelerate , and only out of my right tail pipe. Any recommendations on what could be causing this symptom?

hey i have and 76 360 also and once i got it i changed oil plugs and battery and my bike does the same thing, white smoke right side. carbs are clean but my rpms seem so stay high way to long any help on this?

Worn rings. White smoke is caused from burning oil (or rarely, unburned fuel) and when it occurs under acceleration it's due to worn rings on the pistons. Do a compression check and post the numbers.

Ya I would do a compression check first. Is that pipe cooler than the other? If so it's probably flooding and its unburned fuel. how do your plugs look? Is the smoke pure white or does it have a blueish tint? any performance changes since it started doing this?

Once I got it the thing rode like a turd literally no faster then 55 mph. So I change the plugs, oil, and battery I also noticed the mufflers arent stock, the carbs were clean. And the smoke only seems to occur when I accelerate and the bike has a problem dropping rpms. It stays up for way to long and starts to mis fire and pop when I slow down. O once I changed all that stuff and did my points the bike flys now. Hit a good 60 in 3rd gear. O and if I twist the throttle forward pretty hard the rpms drop some. Sticky cables?

Are the plugs fouling on you at all? Hanging throttle usually means the carbs are way out of tune. Did you synchronize them?
