Honda CB350 hard to get into 1st gear when warm

Hello I am working on a rebuild engine and have the bike finally complete. Issue that I am running into is when the bike is cold it shifts fine from 1st, N, 2nd gears. When I ride the bike and get it warmed up I have a hard time getting the bike back into 1st gear. Even rolling or at a stand still. I am currently running 10w-40 oil. Someone mentioned maybe I go up to 20W 50 to see if that helps but wanted to see what others thought on this forum. I have new clutch plates along with springs. I don't think it has anything to do with the clutch but I suppose it could be a possibility. I noticed the Barnett clutch springs were slightly taller than stock so not sure if that has anything to do with the problem.

Could be the oil, could be your clutch adjustment too. Does it shift into first if you feather the clutch and roll the bike forward?

The clutch has been modified to be hydraulic.

One thing that it could be is the rod might be too short and not activating the clutch properly but why would it work when its cold?
