how do you shave seat foam?

i have my stock seat that i want to shave down but cant seem to figure out how to go about it. it doesnt cut well with a knife, almost like i would need to sand it down somehow?

use a big bread knife to remove the bulk and make large cuts...
then use a sander for the finer details.

I used an angle grinder outfitted with a worn-out flap disc. Worked real well.

I've also heard that the electric carving knives work really well (haven't tried it yet though).

I have an cheapo electric carving knife at works amazingly well, you need to practice a bit before cutting in though becuase it takes a bit of skill and stuff happens fast!

jig saw is another option

But I one method I saw, with good results the is the hot knife, copper wire across a 6V heavy duty torch battery and can cut smooth flowing lines

I've made a large set of hot wire foam cutting tools for zero dollars. They cut like a hot knife on butter.
