How much can I ask?

I am thinking of selling this, how much do you think I can ask?

Well,.. I got an offer for $4000 for my cb550f and its not even close that that nice!!
However, dont expect guys like us, (cheap wrenchers ;D), to pay that much.
Target the sport bike crowd or the Vespa/Scooter crowd and sell it as a Turn-Key Cafe racer. To those guys who are used to paying 5-7K for a bike, a sexy cafe racer for $4000 is a great deal...

Dont sell yourself short!!... I'd ask for $5000.

Why are you selling???!!.. Such a sweet bike

Put it up on eBay - you'll get $6000 or more if things are in order. I don't recall - how's the engine? Everything runs? Get as much detail about the build as you can together and look at some of the higher priced sales on eBay to get an idea of what buyers are looking for.

Might wait till spting to list it on Ebay as the prices will be higher and income tax checks will be in the mail too ;D ;D

Nice work (love those carbs, btw) -- is it just me or do you have the battery hidden in a spot that's not readily apparent?

Probably in the tail section as it looks big enough to hide it.

The bike is beautiful and should do well if sold to the right buyer at the right time(this may nit be the best time, but with vintage bikes who knows?). What tank is that from..custom/race and what material..steel/aluminum?

Ask high and see what happenes..
Always easier to go down then go up (can you tell I am a salesman for a living ? ;D)

Having never priced anything like this, I would guess in the $7ks--especially as hot as cafe racers are right now. At least, that's what I would pay if 1.) I were in the market for a cafe racer and 2.) I had that sort of cash to throw around. That bike is cherry.

Yeah its easy as nice LOOKING as one of Carpy's. I dunno if you went thru the motor as much as he does, but if you did, considering what he charges i say you could get 5-7 if the market is right pretty easy. If you dont mind, how much invested? Not time wise, just parts and paint?

The motor is a 750ss and has a cool set of parts from RC engineering, like the crank , rods, pistons and timing. It has electronic ignition . The chrome parts are chrome not polished, and it all came with a 600.00 price tag from a novice 2nd owner to me. I spent the money on tires , tanks carbs, seat and paint. It put me back about 3,600.00. For the money it is a really cool bike to have. So I guess I would need to get double of what I spent to feel good about it. Anyway thanks for the help.

I have decided to keep the black bitch even with the curse, I can't part with it.

;D

*phew*

Might have had some regrets on that one blackrock.

Good choice.

Hey, I just saw this one, what kind of tank is that? I was looking for a way to ditch the oil tank on my CB750 and that looks like the ticket.

He made it.

There's a build page with some details on the tank, sorry I don't have the link.
Check out the big arse projects section.

The oil tank is hidden inside a black space under the tank. The oil tank does not touch the side of the gas tank so no transfer of heat. Plus I have it lined with heat sheild, maybe over kill. But I wanted the paint to stay nice. The electronics are under the seat.

Not selling

I just got back the new engine. I had a full 836 engine build done by Mike R. This thing is going to run nice. New pics coming soon.

You'll get between 4k$ and 4500. An honest appraisal . ANy higher and dudes are looking at newer or Euro. A nice Triumph BSA or BMW is going for 4500 which is a bit more desireable than a CB . A Guzzi Eldorado is 4k in my area .
But as said ask high . Just not too high . Too high sents folks elsewhere .

Reich work, eh? I hear all kinds of great things about his work on the SOHCforum. You should post videos. One day, I'll cough up the cash..
