how to remove locked gas cap

hi all,

I tried a search on this, but I couldn't find any topics posted earlier. I bought an old gas tank with a gas cap to which I don't have the key.
Any tips on how to remove it?

flat blade screwdriver should do the trick - find the right size to slide in where the key was and wiggle it down into the tumblers, might take a light touch with a hammer too, twist and release, then replace the cap

A lot of old locking gas caps will open with a small screwdriver, they don't need the specific key for them. Or try your existing key.

If it's an old Honda keyed cap, then just about any key will do. I open mine with the key from a 1978 Cadillac Coupe deVille.
