Long time lurker finally decided to join and contribute!
here is my xl250
bought it for $450! didn't run but the guy threw in an extra carb so i pieced a carb solid carb together with the stock one.
I got it running that same night!
seat - I made it myself using fiberglass and upholstered myself (fitment is all crappy and upholstery looks like shit)
clip ons - ordered
carb rebuild- soon
dont know what else to do? exhaust?
ya, the front of the hump (highest point) should be about as high as the back of the tank (lowest point) so the profile of the bike makes an even arch.
then get that 7inch "lucas style" headlight from dime city and scuff the chrome so it looks like your tank.
Welcome to dtt! Do yourself a favor and ditch the 21" front wheel and grab an 18" from a cb175 or similar bike. It will GREATLY improve your handling on the street and halp to "level" the look of the bike out.
Also, if ya want to make a few extra bucks to put towards the build Ill buy that headlight off of you.
Again, welcome to DTT and keep at it man. The bike you want is there, juat have to coax it out.
Oh really? I had no clue that it would improve the handling, Thanks for the heads up. Let me just buy another headlight first and i will surely sell you this one! Im making my new seat today! and i just bought an open face for $15 off of gregslist!!
