Hey! I'm here in San Antonio too! Doing up a 1978 Honda CB400T. Maybe we should have a San Antonio cafe racer club!!

Howdy from the Alamo city from another guy

Hey guys,

I too am in San Antonio. I just started on my 1978 Honda CB400T. I making it more of a European standard, ala BMW, than a cafe racer. So far I have a Superbike bar, BMW bar-end turn signals, a CRG bar-end mirror I'm mounting on the bar just inside the bar-end turn signals, I got a local guy redoing my seat into a cafe racerish thing with the rising rear hump, and Benjie (great guy!) from Benjie's Cafe Racers (BCR)is making up a headlight bucket/tacho holder combination for me. He currently has them for 7" headlights but is going to make up a batch of for 6" headlights like mine.

Right now, I got everything except the engine off the frame. I'm waiting on getting my compressor and media blasting cabinet installed in my garage before I get to cleaning and polishing everything. I'm taking the carbs off tonight and hopefully they won't be in too bad shape. I got a new wiring harness off of Ebay last night. Somebody who owned the bike before cut the stock harness up all to pieces so it's got to be replaced or redone. I'm taking the forks to a professional pretty soon. I'm planning on modifying the stock tank or I might just go ahead and buy a tank from BCR.

After all the mechanicals are up to snuff, it's all going to be painted black with white and silver pinstripes and vintage Honda wing badges on the tank.

Don't have any pics yet, the projects still too ugly to show anybody.

I think the cartoon post caught your attention and like most modern children you have A.D.D. so you zoned and life passed you by. I wonder what else you missed?
