i have my reasons for why i want to do this trade, and im pretty darn excited. the silver one im keeping and cafe'ing. the red one im rebuilding and cafeing to give to my buddy cause he'd love a cafe racer, but he never has money.

That's really nice of you to do that. I still have plenty of parts left over so let me know if there's something you need.

That doesn't seem like a good trade to me? I have a CL175 and a GS450. The 175 is a really neat little bike, but too slow. I'd want something that can go on the highway as well... Either way, building a 175 cafe is rad, such a neat little scoot. You have any specific plans yet?

well as for highway riding, i dont do much of it and dont do highway riding if i dont have to. but if i do, my rebel 450 bobber that im working on can do that pretty well.

for the most part, my routes are all on 30-50 mph roads, which the 175 should be fine.

im a little guy, 135, 5'8" (barely) and the gs weighing 450 lbs, was alot for me. it always felt bulky. having a cl125 and knowing how light it is and how nimble it is on turns, it just feels better. (it weighs like 200lbs) but cl175's weigh in at about 300, and its size is right between my cl125 and my gs550, so i think it'll be perfect.

plans, well i have a few things in mind. the gs550 was a little too big for clubmans, as when i put them o i was reaching too far forward, so i put those drag bars on upsidedown, maybe the 175 will be different. so options this time are clubmans, flipped drag bars, clip ons.

i picked up this graphite pearl color. its a REALLY really dark warm grey mettallic color, made to mach honda cars in that color. it looks really cool.

heres a honda car i found online painted in that color:

also this timei may go with the round bumpstop on it, since the last one i did had the squareish one. not sure.

ill tell ya one thing though, i like the short exaust on it alot.

when i get it tonight im gonna stare at it for a couple of hours and figure more stuff out that i wanna do, ill start a build thread tonight too.

Those look like fun! I've been thinking that I want to play with a small displacement bike for my next project, but I'm about 65 lbs bigger than you so I might have to adjust my interpretation of "small."

Can't wait to see the builds!

i know joe, i can see how it looks like that, maybe in terms of money/engine strength it might not be as fair etc, but i posted on craigslist that i was willing to trade my cafe for a strong running cb175, and this kid came through giving me two of em. ive just been more a fan of the smaller bikes lately.

Pretty awesome trade IMO.

BTW, you don't have any old tattoo machines you'd like to sell, would you?
