So apparently Plasti-Dip can now be used in a variety finishes on your car/motorcycle. I watched a few videos and have to say I AM intrigued. The guys doing it are dipyourcar.com here's a link to a pretty impressive video that shows how "easy" switching colors is. What I like about their videos is they literally go through step by step walkthroughs on mixing and applying. I might check this out as a "temp" paint job if I ever get sick of the one I haven't even started yet :p hah (dont worry I'm laying paint tomorrow finally) but I just found this and thought it would be of some interest to you fellows.

I tryed some of the rattle can stuff on my GS rims, then proceded to throw gravel at it to see how it would hold up. After it lifted in a few places I decided powder coatings was the best way to go.

When I removed the plasti-dip all I used was a knife and it peeled right off, sure does come off easy. Holds up to gravel better than paint as well.

i did my front forks with the foliatec version of plasti dip, holds up pretty good against gravel and other crap...

My buddy at work painted his entire Pontiac G8 in plasti dip to protect the paint over the winter. Held up great amd he drives it every day.

I used the rattle can stuff on the grill and headlight bezels on my Stepside. Definitely holds up to rock chips better than paint.

But........why is a can IN your fridge?

You win. I was waiting how many posts it would take for some to ask that. Well to answer your inquiry about my refrigerated plastidip. Its because mine is the actual dip for tools, not the spray, and I live in AZ. My garage can hit 170 in the summer, not cool....(bazinga)

Ahh you took all the fun out of the "testing" I was going to do...I was FINALLY going to have a legitamite reason to throw rocks at cars, for science.

Did you use the "glossifier"

Or has anyone tried putting a clear coat on top of a few layers of this stuff (dip your car recommends 6layers of the plastidip for 1 application when doing vehicles)

I was just wondering if I needed to avoid eating or drinking anything, if I happened to be at your place. ;D
