What is this piece of furniture? Looks like the type of chair or other mid-century office furniture I like.
 
I see more pics of the chair later on in the video. If you ever want to sell it, I'd pay to ship it to Toronto :)
 
Fitting that one of the pistons is stamped ART. This is art in every sense of the word. Very well done and a joy to watch!!

i love seeing the whole build, from start to finish. it's a great addition to your build thread. i like it without the distraction of the correspondence.

not to say that the 10 pages and almost a year pf your build thread hasn't been entertaining too.

now, what's next....... :D
 
great flick. ...off the thread but...hey Tim I'm with you on the period chair. check out my (messy) office. paid under $50 for all 3 pieces. I love this stuff. kinda weird I know....
 
Both chairs are, so far as I know, surplus from the US Postal Service. My dad worked at the local post office for ~35 years, so he got first pick of chairs that were going to be thrown out. You'll notice that the padding on the arms have holes from where they met the edge of a desk...

When I lived in Texas, I'd shop the local Goodwill store every week. For $10 I picked up a steel desk that was surplus from some government or university office, and that thing weighs as much as a damn Buick!
