Ive been a member on this site since 2009. I just choose not to post very often.

I don't know you, therefore you are an FNG, fer fuck sake. Do I hafta 'splain EVERYthing? Sheesh!

Like watching two monkeys fuck a football, this thread is. God bless the internet.

For what its worth, that seating position is really dangerous FOR YOU, the rider. No way to control the bike with your body like your supposed too. And fenders aren't there to keep you off the tire, just shit from the tire off of you. Thats all anyone is trying to say (I belive). Nobody wants to see anyone get hurt. That said... Its your ass. Ride it into any walls you want.

The seat is really not that much different than a sprung solo seat lots of people run on choppers. Seat is angled with a kick up in the rear to keep my ass on. For example.

Use shocks for CB750 SOHC, they are longer and stiffer sprung although may still be too soft for the angle you have them operating

While I won't pretend to be an expert on chopper construction, I would think you would want the seat to cup your ass rather than just provide a reference point not to slip over. The way you have it set up, you will have to hang on to the handlebars rather than just steer with them.

It's an interesting experiment... and I rather like the lines. But with the angle involved, I'd have just welded in a set of spring wrapped bars if I wanted the shock look. With the extended swingarm and the extreme angle, unless you weld the eye and clevis to the mounts, she's going to fold up on you. Been there in the early 90s, CB500T chopper. One good bump at high speed and the shocks moved on the upper mounts, bike got stuck in a V shape until we popped the mounting nuts loose and used a floor jack to level it back out. Welded the shocks to the upper mounts, ran it for 6 months before the mounts tore off the frame.

Looked cool as hell, worked surprisingly well once welded together, just didn't hold up. Ended up cutting down a Triumph aftermarket weld on hardtail section and grafting it in.

I say go for it. It's a CB360, after all, not like you damaged something rare or valuable if it fails on you. You can't spit in a motorcycle junkyard w/o hitting a few of those.

Of course, I may be a bit warped, drum conversion on a late model and saving up for a rigid conversion kit. I hate exposed shocks...

Still, you have to admit, it takes some real Genius to make a CB360 LESS than it originally was....

When this build is done, it should be bronzed and put on a mantle to show everyone what original artwork looks like....

I don't know why people like to build uncomfortable bikes....I always have the mistaken assumption that Motorcycles were supposed to be for riding...I forget that many people just want something they think is pretty, whether it actually functions well or not....

I'm kidding. We are not nice. Don't post yer bike there bud.
I was going to say with the abuse he is receiving here I wouldn't get with in 10 miles of CR.net. We'll rip you apart there. And adding a 16" wheel in most cases will get you no more clearance un less it's a skinny 16" with a small tire. Most 16" mods are a wider rim with a fat tire and no less circumference than a stock 18". I won't comment on this build other than to say I have been laughing hysterically like most of you.

I looked around that forum. I might join and see if I can get some help there too on my bike

Read some more there before posting. Understand the savage replies you will get if ask a stupid question or do anything that is not an improvement in performance and not cosmetic. It's a different atmosphere than here if you are looking for a pat on the back for a job well done.

I have two bikes. One that is perfectly functional that I ride everyday. The other is this Honda. Im building this for fun, not to score points from the internet forum cool guys.

:(

A 150/80/16 will be about 1.5 inches further away from the subframe than a 120/90/18.

i think you forgot to divide that in half ?
there is only a 1" difference on the radius and the 16" tire is taller is it not?

bleah, I meant 150/70/16.

Would be 1.11 inches further away from subframe.

Aaaaannnd... I'm all over the place tonight. Sorry, tired from work.
Stock size is 100/90 for that bike, so...

18 + (3.43x2)/2 = 12.43 inches from axle
16 + (4.13x2)/2 = 12.13 inches from axle

So yeah, from stock size to a 150 16" would gain (next to) nothing.

I had forgotten that the stock rear tire was so small on the cb360.
