I think I wanna buy a Thruxton.....

I don't know...

Except for the seat, fenders, fairing, frame bracing, engine mounts, exhaust, brake rotors, kick-stand, tail lights, front indicators.... it looks pretty good!
I kinda feel the same way.
I think it is a solid starting point to make a otherwise stock bike into something really cool...

If you're going to completely customize it, you might want to look into the bonneville as it's the same bike minus the cafe add-ons.

Good point. The Thruxton, aside from the "look", is about handling. From all that you're saying here, it doesn't sound like you want a Thruxton at all. Why spend that money just to ruin the handling and completely change the look? Get a used Bonneville, W650, older XS650, something like that. Maybe even a Sportster.

Well like I said I don't know what I wanna do.
Kinda all depends on if the Triumph dealership goes thru at the old shop, I end up working there, etc.
At this point I would prob. end up buying a used Bonnie and ripping it apart to make it how I want..

Hey There
Well I have an 04 thruxton that is infact my own one, i have changed a little bit on it, like bars, fenders and signals, chain guard etc and added my own headlight set up. Put on predator exhausts, thing runs great, still alot to do, hope to make a glass tank and seat for it soon.

Well- this is sure interesting... almost 2 years later?
I did a lot of research and ended up getting a Bullet with E-start because I can't kick a bike anymore.
The quality has really improved, and the American importer is really trying to keep folks happy.
Yeah- it doesn't have anhy kind of top end, but the power curve is like a table top. Very light.
I have my W650 for the freeway, but in the twisties here in the mountains, I'm loving this thing.

These new triumphs do nothing for me. I know you want a daily (reliable) rider but the old just look so much better!

I LOVE this old triumph. I posted a pic of a similiar one last week{built by the Garage Company} and joked i wanted someone to buy it for me. I got kinda flamed cause it was 10grand {OBV a ridiculous price, hence my joke about someone buying it for me}.....anyway ......
LOL at Carpy on the Thruxton....just doesnt seem right
