Are there even 12 girls on here that actually post AND ride, and which would be willing to portray themselves in semi-suggestive poses, next to grease covered 2-wheel death machines, all while scantily clad in leather/fishnets/ripped rock band t-shirts/bandanas/etc just for the sake of having a bunch of greasemonkey home garage bike builders drool all over their computer keyboards all the while wondering why they're online instead of finishing their builds?

As cool as I think it would be, I kinda have to side with the other guys. One big reason my wife has a differnt view of bikes than when we first met has been me constantly showing her that sites like this are different and that it really is "all about the bikes." And while having a pinup certainly wouldn't be evil, id hate to make the world think we objectify women like a lot of others do. Besides, we have the other 2 threads

I think you guys do fine with the current threads.
Its one thing to post up pics in appreciation of a well taken photo of someone easy on the eyes, but to start comparing one to another, critiquing them and voting on which is better than the other etc. etc. etc. isn't what we're here for.
Maybe having seen two pre-teenage girls yesterday on the beach here in Sanibel FL with temporary tramp-stamp tattoos on their lower backs in the company of their trashy parents/grandparents has influenced my view.
Or maybe it's my own fashion-discovering 9 year old daughter who is at eye-level of the trashy magazines they put at the checkout counter of the 7-11 we visit weekly for her Slurpee treat after a 20 hour week of gymnastics training.
The world doesn't need another monthly centerfold.

If we do pinups I'd like to see it like the classic pinup illustrations instead. I know we have to have enough capable artists here to do that (I'm talking to you "Cafe Racer Queen" guy who's name escapes me currently, Costas or something). Could make a great line of t-shirts and stickers too.

Im with the NO croud here. The "pics of vintage female..." thread was killer, and has turned into a bit of an "offcolor" section of the board. Which is cool, Im not bitching, but we have had a few female members sign up and than disappeare just as quickly. Ive always partially believed that a thread full of naked broads on bikes may have had a small part in that.
If there was a way to do an art only thread like DJ reccomended, or even a thread where aspiring models could post their own vintage pin up style pics (networking, ya know) that would be Kosher.
Like Tim, I have a young girl (my little sis) in my life who I see surrounded by what I consider to be teen mothers in training (seriously people, raise your daughters with a damn sense of self respect) I dont think we need to push the limits here.
Dont get me wrong, Im no prude, and as adults I think folks should be able to rock any weird, perverse, and non harmful shit they dig. And as most of my profile pics suggest, I love artisticly done photos of attractive women. Especially ones in the vein of vintage pin-up art.
There has to be a limit though.

I realize in advance this is probably just another form of sexism, but I wouldn't mind seeing a BOTM (Bike or Builder) thread for the ladies. Sort of a way to raise awareness for all the ladies joining our humble ranks. There are, indeed, a growing number of women builders and riders and a thread dedicated to curves of the mechanical sort instead of curves of a biological sort might be kinda cool.
