That's a really nice bike, love it. I honestly wouldn't do much with it, I like how it is now. If you just want a bit of the cafe style, probably remove the stock seat/tail and fab up something more cafe, and remove the passenger pegs. Leave the fairing off and get a round headlight. Will be interested to see what you do with it.

thank you very much and yes i want to change the tail piece but not sure what sort of shape as i run a under seat exhaust but i quite like the idea of making something out of fibre glass and yes the head light is a definite !

If you can do it at all, your best bet would be to make one. I find premade seats rarely look good on bikes as they never fit in with the rest of the bike, and it will be more evident on your bike where its not a traditional cafe platform.

I would agree with herrD , don't do much other then a few small things . Only problem I see is it has no bolt on sub frame in the back so any new tail you put back there will have kinda the same look as you do now . IMO which isn't much I would just clean up the front with a nice round headlight and ride it as is . Then find a older bike and mess with it !
Good luck sir !

And no HerrD I'm not following you around but seems that way LOL

sachs makes great motorcycles!great quality and make.

i would change the front appearance with a round headlight.
and something that would be a little more work but very very intersting would be to fab up a fiberglass piece of the whole rear section....what i mean is the seat with hump and sidepanels...in my view this whole section could look a little more light nimble and "slenderized".
maybe the new rear section could "swallow" up the nice underseat exhaust or smthing like that.

-->paint the new rear section and you have a perfect bike.

Not a bad canvas to start from. Sort of reminds me of the GS500.

I agree that the tail is the only part that seems too far off.
A rear hugger in black might get you the coverage your laws require and allow you the freedom to sculpt a tail that's a bit shorter.

Any other laws/rules/regs that must be followed in your neck of the woods?

Do you have a picture of the bike with the rear plastics removed? Like to see what the frame looks like there.

I think a nice single round headlight would be good, although by the looks of it you'd need to chop into the frame to do that and reweld a mount onto it.

Besides that you can always try painting a the frame, swingarm and maybe wheels. How do you feel about the yellow? Perhaps you could look at repainting the tank and fenders too? Those kind of mods make a huge visual difference for relative ease.

For ideas try looking at other bikes that have a similar design. For example the Ducati Monster has a similar lattice-type frame to your sachs as seen below:

Also thank you for the kind comments and the great ideas. i know i want a round headlamp and there are mounts already there if i dont want to used the forks as mounts and you are correct Dread Rock the sub frame is part of the frame so i was thinking of just a smaller tail piece made from fibre glass but not sure what sort of look im going for and that would suit the bike. im not to fussed on having a pillion ( passenger ) so i might go for a single seat but a lot slimmer and lower rear end like the ducati ..... thoughts ?

Sub frame looks great, should be able to make a nice looking seat for that. Check out some of the Radical Ducati builds for ideas.

this is what i was thinking or going for but i really like the single headlight with no fairing but the half fairing does look good. but i think i will fibre glass a seat with a rounded cafe hump on the back and not run any rear seat
for example have the seat unit sit flat to the ground so all the tail like and exhaust come out of the back hump ( i will make a photo to try and explain more)

The red/silver Ducati is what I would use for inspiration, as mentioned the lines are very similar to your bike. This looks like a great project, don't forget weight will be your enemy on this bike being only a 125 so shedding weight will be good. I can see this being a great bike.

yes i want a very low profile rear end so that ducati looks perfect and thank you for your comment, do you have any ideas on how to achieve a nice seat unit to match the bike

Easy and cheap way is take a good pic of it and put in on your paint editer on a computer . Then just mess around with color shapes then print them out and find the one that you like best and go from there ! Most all bike I've seen build here have all been subject to change as they go along !
