Idea for a cafe ?

yes i just did and these are the lines from the frame under the seat unit

just take a look at your beautiful tank design and how the front of the tank slips under the frame...maybe the new seat unit sits one part of the design on the frame tubes and on one side it will slip under the frame tube too....

every attempt to show more of that slick framework will make the bike look more light and nimble.

is there anything hidden under the current seat unit? electrical, battery,et cetera?

consider if you change the seat layout youll need to think about hiding it somewhere.

please dont go for the classic caferacer seat hump...it wont fit youre bike design, take the lines and shape and shrink it,maybe add somes lines.

if you take a look at those GSXR classics and modern bike you see the BIG difference i design on rear of the bikes....the lighter and nimble the better.

I was thinkin a stubby look would be pretty sweet. 8)

Or try molding your own quarter fairing.

I would also say that unless you add some red accents in the paint job itself, i also think the red calipers and shock coil stand out in a negative way. < Major opinion right there.

I like the ideas out here, though!

Just shows how tastes differ, I like the pic from rat rider best although I would try to streamline it even more somehow. That stubby look is terrible imho but it doesn't really matter what I think. I am not smart enough for photoshop so I just print out a pic then start drawing over it, see a look I like then build it right out of my head.

Tastes definitely differ, but that's what helps create the most unique bikes IMO. When i think of true new-age cafe builds, i use this standard> http://imgur.com/a/ZR8FY, that's just going by the title of the post.

To me rat's concept looks more like a normal naked bike than anything. Which is cool too, there isn't much that i wouldn't do to have a Triumph Speed Triple of my own. ;)

But for editing, all we are doing is saving the picture and opening it in Microsoft paint. So if you know how to use paint, shoot! I say the more ideas the better.

If you stretched the stubby cowl a little it would look a lot better imo, just a little longer but keep the seat part the same.

I agree that Rat Riders pics look more like a naked bike. Like I mentioned earlier the red/silver Ducati pic on page 1 is great inspiration for this bike.

Yeah, that was just a little 10 min. sketch, i think it should be a liiittle bit taller as well.
I love that Ducati though, i saw this one recently > http://www.motogen.pl/Ducati-Panigale-S-Cafe-Racer,20071/Ducati-1199-Panigale-S-Elite-II,80427.html Thing blew me away, those Ducati's are just too cool.

I agree! I'm kinda Jealous of this project!
Guess my taste is just misunderstood... ::)

I'm thinking the stubby is cool, but IMO it just needs to be stretched out slightly longer, so that the aft end is over the center of the rear wheel. Maybe a less bulbous hump and a little flatter seat profile.. JMHO.. :)

thanks for the comments guys and thats a great link ace ! i think i will and get the measurements right for the tail in photo shop and post a pic !

do you want to cut the frame?if yes its critical to find a good "compromise" on style and legal specs.dunno where you live and which laws you have to abide, but in austria we have terribly strict laws.if we cut the frame we can dump the moto :)

what i would love to see is that the new seat unit sits on top of the framework, sleaking behind it like the tank area near the fork.

also i if you take a look at my pic you see i "copied" the knee dent of the tank and transferred it to the seat combo.that "dent" adds more lightness to the new seat and looks more "original".

the bulky design is awful, your bike is not a cafe racer,it has more a superbike flavor to it. dont try to convert it to one.

i like that thanks but yes i carnt cut the frame at the moment, i will when i have another bike but for know its to much paper work to sort and to long to keep it of the road so i like the shapes that youv made there i might photo something similar, thanks !

thoughts ? please bare in mind that on this bike you are right over the bars and i have to sit at the very back of my seat to stay stable in fast tight corners just to balance out my weight

i was looking more and more at the ducati builds and was thinking about a whole single seat with a cowl covering the back end ?
